A large evergreen shrub, to 8+ ft tall and wide. With soft silvery green leaves and small clusters of deep red flowers in late winter through spring and occasionally throughout the year. Best in sun and lean, well-drained soil, with little water once established. As with all Proteacea, avoid phosphorus fertilizer. Hardy to 25F, mid-USDA zone 9 - so be prepared to protect or bring inside during cold spells.
