Glossy and fuzzy green leaves cover trailing rhizomes 4 inches tall spreading to 2 feet wide. Wiry flower stems hold frilly pale yellow-green flowers above the leaves like miniature foam flowers in late spring. Shade to dappled sun in any decently well drained soil. Occasional summer water, though established plants in shade are quite drought adapted. A good companion plant for year round ground cover around other woodland plants Evergreen in zone 8, re-sprouting from the base into USDA zone 5.
